Xi'an

According to our lovely travel guide Linda, Xi'an means "Western Peace", and the city truly reflects that. It is also home to one of the wonder's of the world, the shrine of the Terracota Warriors.

Terracota Army

I was truly amazed by the sheer number of sculptures that live in this monument. The impressive level of detail and work put into each and every piece reminds us of the mastery and craftmanship the ancient Chinese civilization possessed.

Chinese Hamburger?

That's what the locals call it. It's either lamb or pork stuffed between two pieces of flat and hard pieces of bread. It's quite tasty if you like a stiff texture to your bread...not to mention really cheap!

Muslim Street Market

Truly one of the highlights of the trip! There is so much amazing street food on this one strip. I tried fresh lamb, squid, quail eggs, sticky rice, fresh juice, and so many other delicious things. While haggling is a must at these markets, the prices are already incredibly cheap - nothing cost more than 10 Chinese Yuan, which is about $1.50.
